Customize Email Templates

There are several occasions App Users receive email messages from Appiaries.
“Basic Settings” provides a tool to let you customize Subject and Body of such email messages.
Will will discuss about how.

Checking Email Templates

Make sure you see “Customizing Templates” in the middle of “Basic Settings” page.

From “Type” radio buttons, choose “HTML Templates”.

You will notice that “Template” pulldown menu items are all replaced by HTML Templates.
From the replaced pulldown menu, choose the template you wish to customize.

Email Template Types

You have 5 kinds of email templates which you may customize.

# Type Description
1 Email Address Validation Notification Mail Sent to the email address of app users newly registered in order validate their email address.
2 Email Address Validation Notification Mail (for App User Update) Sent to the email address of app users whose information is updated in order validate the email address updated.
3 Email Address Validation Notification Mail (Register by Email First) Sent to the email address of app users newly registered in order validate their email address. Compared to the ordinary app user registration, this is specifically for registering new user by email first.
4 Email Reissue Mail Sent to the email address of app users to reissue their passwords.
5 Account Lock Mail Sent to app users who attempted logins and failed for more than 10 times.

For each, you may set either Japanese or English templates.
To select Japanese or English, use two tabs located at the top of each section.

Each template contains dynamic variables which will be rendered while the templates are processed.
Name of such variables all begins with %% and ends with %%.
For instance, %%APP_NAME%% is a variable for “App Name”.
There are certain variables available for each template.

Customize Each Template

Bellow describe the purpose for using each template, and how these templates are to be customized.

Email Address Validation Notification Mail

If you set in “Basic Settings” that the account requires email address for authentication,
this is the email message sent to the email address of app users
who are newly registered in order validate their email address.

%%APP_NAME%% will be your app name.
%%LOGIN_ID%% will be the login ID of the app user. Not allowed to use for “Subject”.
%%URL%% will be a link for the user to validate the Email Address (NOT AVAILABLE FOR “SUBJECT”). Required.

Email Address Validation Notification Mail (for App User updates)

If you set in “Basic Settings” that the account requires email address for authentication,
this is the email message sent to the email address of app users
in order validate their email address when updating the already registered user.

%%APP_NAME%% will be your app name.
%%LOGIN_ID%% will be the login ID of the app user. Not allowed to use for “Subject”.
%%URL%% will be a link for the user to validate the Email Address (NOT AVAILABLE FOR “SUBJECT”). Required.

Email Address Validation Notification Mail (Register by Email First)

This is also the email messages sent to the email address of app users who needs email authentication.
It slightly differs from the last one, where this does not register login ID first,
but if you choose to register email first without login ID.
Therefore, you may not be able to use %%LOGIN_ID%% as you are allowed for the last one.

%%APP_NAME%% will be your app name.
%%URL%% will be a link for the user to validate the Email Address. Not allowed to use for “Subject”. Required.

Email Reissue Mail

Sent to the email address of app users to reissue their passwords.
Clicking the URL on email message to show a password setting web page.

%%APP_NAME%% will be your app name.
%%URL%% will be a link for the user to validate the Email Address. Not allowed to use for “Subject”. Required.

Account Lock Mail

Sent to app users who attempted logins and failed for more than 10 times.
Clicking the URL on email message to unlock the account, and show the user the account is now unlocked.

%%APP_NAME%% will be your app name.
%%LOGIN_ID%% will be the login ID of the app user. Not allowed to use for “Subject”.
%%URL%% will be a link for the user to validate the Email Address. Not allowed to use for “Subject”. Required.
